Park West Gallery - Who We Are
Park West Gallery® is based in Southfield, Michigan,
with affiliate locations in Miami, FL. Park West Gallery® conducts fine art auctions throughout the
United States and Canada and on cruise ships arounds the world.
Proudly established in 1969, Park West Gallery® is located on a beautiful 3½-acre site, including a natural
pond in the rear of the gallery with a surrounding stone walkway and sculpture garden. The 63,000 square foot building was
designed in the Neo-Classical style of many museums built in North America during the late 19th to early 20th century
(see the Detroit Institute of Arts and Art
Institute of Chicago). Welcoming each visitor is an elegant granite walkway protected by a covered portico and stone
colonnade. The gallery also boasts 23 exterior galleries displaying a rotating selection of artwork from behind glass
windows, providing passersby a gallery experience without entering the gallery if they elect. Artist
Anatole Krasnyansky contributed to the exterior design of the gallery.
Inside there are 23 spacious exhibition galleries accented with antique furniture and fine oriental carpets on limestone
floors. Each of the galleries is devoted to a particular artist or style of art. Every month a new exhibition and sale
is mounted and a completely new collection of more than 1,000 works fills the galleries.
Unlike traditional galleries and auction houses, Park West's® goal has always been to de-mystify art by
bringing it directly to the people. Park West® has initiated a new and more hands-on approach to art
collecting by conducting auctions around the United States and locales abroad.
From the earliest days of the company, Scaglione traveled as far as Texas and Florida to conduct auctions. During the
1990s, Park West Gallery® began holding fine art auctions aboard cruise lines and discovered an opportunity
to bring art collecting to a larger cross-section of the public. Today, Park West® conducts thousands of
auctions aboard the most popular cruise lines in the world such as Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity, Disney, Holland
America, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Regent, Royal Caribbean International, and Oceania, as well as at Sandals Resorts.
"Our core business is to create art auctions all over the world," Scaglione has said. "Our mantra, from early on, was to
make art accessible to people."
In addition to the university donations, Mr. Scaglione and the Park West Foundation® are involved in
many other community and charitable activities. To learn more about these activities, please visit the
